Here's a batch of pictures from week 3. All pix were taken on July 7th. The hemp is about 5 inches tall now. The Southern field is coming along nicely while the Northern still looks pretty patchy. Weather continues to be excellent, with a lot of sunlight and regular rainfall. This is an anomalous situation for most of the Prairies.
We discovered what I think is a badger hole near the field. Likely abandoned, but it would make a good home for some critter.
I've also thrown in a shot of some nearby GMO canola, which in many ways, is "the anti-hemp" as it implies a radically different path for agriculture to take. As of 2002, Saskatchewan is covered with fields of yellow flowers and fields of hemp are hard to find and usually hidden from the public eye to discourage mischief.
