All pix taken on June 28th are from a field East of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. A dairy operation. The plant is in two components, a North and South field.
The South one has better establishment and emergence, so we reckon that as it was formerly a pasture, there was some good nitrogen availability there. The North field had weak establishment, little plants quite scattered. Not enuff N?
Though this was a late planting, climatic conditions have been surprisingly ideal. Lots of hot temperatures, and rain everyday for a late afternoon soaker.
The seed was treated with HempStart seed coating. I think the variety is USO 31.
Anyhow so we have germination, the tallest plant is about three inches high right now. 5 weeks of good sun, we should get something robust, I'm hoping, for early August.
